It's a good movie, but Anneliese Michel (whom the movie is based upon) was an epileptic schizophrenic. The catholic church is (contrary to popular belief) very skeptical toward demonic posessions and usually requires a lot of evidence before ruling out mental illness. This is why a lot of so-called exorcists are also skilled in psychology.
