I experienced both sides of good and bad at university. What makes something good or bad is the people you are around in your life. If you can make some good friends or meet someone special, then you will be laughing!
In my first year at university I was in halls of residence and hated it, I had some right annoying neighbours, but I liked the people on my course.
I remember my first day at university walking down the corridor in the halls of residence and I said to this guy who came out of the room opposite my room 'Alright mate' and he said 'Yeah I'm alright, why wouldn't I be?' I thought 'tosser alert'. Unfortunately he was in his second year there with this other guy next door to him and within a week they were like putting blue tac in my keyhole and just really unpleasant. I hated it so much, it was a horrible year living there. But people on my course were great and I met some brilliant friends and in my second year I lived in a student house with three friends. I had the best time ever, I felt so lucky to have met such brilliant friends, we had the best two years just always having fun.
Since I graduated its been really disappointing. I had so many goals, ambitions and dreams when I graduated that I would go on to fantastic things, but I drifted away from friends as I lived far away from them, other friends got paired off and married. Work is a bore and well not much happening in my life right now.
But the reality is that if you meet cool people you will be happy. A place is only good if you are around people who make it good. Who knows what next holds for you, fingers crossed you get a job you like and meet some cool friends and someone nice and you would be so happy. I would be over the moon now if I met a girlfriend who I really liked. There is a fine line between happiness and non happiness.
