Teleconferencing for consultations?

What do you think about using teleconferencing instead of leaving the house for consultations? My friend's son is always sick but he really doesn't like going out so my friend is considering if teleconferencing is worth a shot. Of course, they'll have to leave the house still to go to the hospital for serious cases but for consultations and check ups, do you think it's a good option?

I don't know if it's a good idea. There's nothing like dealing with people face to face. The old fashioned way before texting and everything else. Less of a chance of a misunderstanding.

But if your friend's son is really sick that often. It may not be a bad idea in that case.

Yes, he is often sick. I don't think that there's a single week that passes that he doesn't get sick be it from his allergies or slight fevers. And I actually think that it's safe because it's HIPAA compliant video conferencing. It has to be approved by the government.
