I got put in my worst nightmare!!!

At work we have two new people who have started, and anyway something had to be fixed....and I've only been there two months and I don't know much yet, and the new girl had to fix something she did up, but no-one else told her how to do it, so when I told her what had to be fixed she had no idea what to do, so I had to tell her and show her what to do, I offered to do it for her, but she wanted me to show her how to do it, so I had to explain it and show her how, and it made me really uncomfortable because I don't really like speaking, and I felt like everyone was staring and thinking I was dumb
And she was really nice to me and she said thankyou two or three times, like she was really greatful....I wonder if she knew how nervous I was....and why is it that no-one else offered to show her? They've all been there for years, and if I told her the wrong thing I'll get in trouble....and they all looked surprised like they weren't expecting me to do it....but i proved them wrong :)

That's great to hear, Emma. You know, it's very helpful and motivating to work with people like you because the first days are a bit confusing. I'm sure that this person feels connected to you somehow for your kindness. And perhaps, no-one noticed you were nervous, and if someone did, I guess they didn't notice of it with such proportions as you did. Maybe your "experienced" colleagues were afraid to fail and they got surprised because a newbie step forward:).
That's great my dear. Be proud.

aww Emma...trust me, i know just how you feel..i always get rooked into training new staff in the position i work in..and i hate it..i usually act more uncomfortable and quiet and anxious than the new person does :x ..and i can tell others around me are enjoying the show of me feeling uncomfortable, trying to speak loudly enough so new person can learn from me ..good for you for doing it :!:

I know exactly how you feel. Its bad enough doing my normal job on my own, let alone having to get other people to understand what I'm doing.

Well done for doing it Emma. 8)

Good for you Emma. It might have been your nightmare come true but you got through it and helped the girl, who in return was grateful.

You took the initiative, you took the leadership role, while all the other geese that have been there forever and a day stood around. You earned some points for yourself nice one
