a little embarrased yes. at stop lights I never like to have my windows down with music on because I feel like other people might be evaluating my music choice. and plus I don't feel comfortable singing along when other people are present!

Sometimes I feel a little embarrassed when I listen to emo-ish music especially around my sister, because I normally dislike that kind of music and I wish that I didn't like it. And sometimes if I know that my sister doesn't like the music and she thinks it sucks, then I get a little flustered.

I crank up Pink Floyd all the time with windows down cuz the old hag next door always turns up Russian Music, so I couldnt care less.

I do however find it funny when I drive through a "ghetto" neighbourhood playing Nirvana in my car. They look at me like Im from another planet.

Im the same. Well when I was younger anyway. My eldest brother was such an asshole. I could never listen to my own music, could never watch the tv show I wanted to watch and when I got the chance to put music on it would be off in 5 minutes anyway followed by 'Tryhard crap'.
The only middleground we shared music wise was Rage Against The Machine.

Oh and daisuki I am the same. I always listen to music on an Ipod. Noone in my family wants to hear Arcade Fire or The Editors.
Music can be very personal I find it is easier this way.

but i think its our weakness to mind too much about how others will think about us,isnt it?

it's funny too how you always turn down the music in your car if someone is in theere with you...even if you know they love the same music!
i brought this up to my sister the other day while we were in the car...i just said, i think we should crack this up...and she said hell yeh, so we listened to some good old 'interpol' the way it was intended....loudly :)

I do get a little embaressed because my parents (or not really my mum) and sister don't like my taste of music and make comments on it. I don't play music in the house, i like to listen to it on my MP3 player because then people don't know what i'm listening to and can't make horrible comments on it
