Social Support

Does anyone believe in social support these days? Does anyone else think, that maybe with social support one can begin to overcome their social anxiety, build up social skills, maybe even a temperance that you normally wouldn't have?

Do you think this is even possible? I think that maybe a majority of my social anxiety stems from "inadequate social skills," "feelings of inadequacy" and maybe some other things to do with temperance.

I think there is something to this. But it's a real catch-22 situation because the people likely to receive social support won't have social problems in the first place. So probably not very helpful for our particular problem.

either way I think we do need social support for this is an interdependent life (not codependency). To build social skills first of all we might need someone to accept us for who we are, and not condemn us, and avoid us, which would keep us from making progress. Well sure we can still do without someone accepting us for who we are but life cannot be lived to the fullest without acceptance. The very least thing we need is receptivity. RECEPTIVITY! The least thing we need I think is social support because without this we can't even go all the way. Maybe not even start to become better. We don't need people judging us. The very least there should be is understanding, but of course wherever there is no clarity that might be kind of hard. We have to keep positive though. I'm talking about social support for the things we would need social support for, interdependence, not codependency. We are a social.. society. Society= social being. We cannot live by ourselves in a cave. Just as we depend on sunlight for our eyes, we depend on a cash clerk to take our money when we want to buy something.......
