Social Anxiety and Sweating

Evening people, I need some advice and a shoulder to cry on.

I'm a 26 year old male from Oxford, England and work as a postman.

I like to keep fit and run 5 miles three or four times a week.

I have one major problem in my life and it's halting everything and making me very depressed.

I suffer from social anxiety and excessive sweating and it has totally ruined my life. I can't meet women and i'm stuck in a dead end job as a postman earning £20,000 a year.

I have big ambitions to become a police officer but because of my sweating and anxiety it will never happen :(

Is there any drugs that can control this? I will try anything.

All I want is a happy life in a fulfilling job.

Hi Ralphy,

I completely relate to you and have posted in the SA forum and someone there mentioned to me that I should see my Doctor and ask him about "Effexor". This should help but ask for a low dose as it has some side effects. You can always increase your dose later if it feels right to you.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!!

From my experience in 15 years of SA, a happy life and a fulfilling job are the two things we all want and the two things almost nobody gets.
Meds wont solve the question, sorry to say, they can in a certain way mask the problem, low the level of anxiety in certain situations, but the problem is in the brain, and that friend is very dificult to thame.
And a cop whith SA?????
I wanted to be a cop......

So basically I'll never have a happy life, job I like, a wife or kids.

Cheers, you've cheered me right up.

No Ralphy, please cheer up.

I beleive if you get on the right meds, and start to feel different, your confidence level will increase and perhaps these issues will slowly start to deminish.

Give it a try and let me know please. I see my Dr. tomorrow.

Ralphy. Your life is how you perceive the world around you. I'm sure this obvious advice is apparent to you, but from your posts, you seem to have forgotten it.

Never say or write the words, I won't have this or I won't have that.

Train your brain to think in a positive light and discard negative thoughts as if they were sins. In many ways they are. Your thoughts feed your emotions and if you think about the "lack" in you life, you will bring youself to a negative place where only bad things happen.

Train your thoughts, guard your tongue and show gratitude for the good in life.

Ralphy, you are focusing on a very small problem you have and magnetising it by 1 million to make it a massive issue. You live in England?Well i dont know how you can sweat there much- Its freezing all the time.

What else do you do in life? running is great and you are obviously very fit which is good. maybe you need a new hobby to distract your mind and focus on? if you like any sports, then give it a go - sweating during sport is not exactly weird. Realise who you are and be proud of yourself.
