My sister joined a fencing club a few weeks ago with a friend and she's also doing it for this Duke of Edinburgh Awards thing at her school, but she's still going even when that's finished, coz she says she loves it. She's made alot of friends there and most of them are guys. So my sister has recently asked me that i should really go to coz it's alot of fun, and i keep refusing. I think my Social Phobia is too sereve (sp?) and i won't be able to talk to any of the people there, specially the guys coz i find that even harder. I wouldn't be able to do any of the moves coz i'd be too worried and embaressed about what people are thinking. I'd dread it if they started saying things like "You don't talk much do you?" or "Why don't you talk?" that would really put me off. My sister said they are really nice people and will not bully etc. I'm being nice here and trying not to get those poor people not to have to mix with someone (me) who will find it hard to talk to them! Also i get really nervous and shy round my sister's other friends who go, let alone mix with them there and they don't know that i have SA, but if i go there, they'll find out that something's wrong with me. My sister well angry with me because i won't go.

Might as well give it one shot. If it goes awry, you never have to go again. If it goes well, then it's a step forward.

yea and what if i can't talk to them, what if i say the wrong thing, or my answers goes all tongue-tied and come out to quiet that they have to ask me to repeat. What if coz i'm so shy and nervous that i can't bring myself to laugh.
