i am pretty sure i have a social anxiety disorder as most symptoms apply to me. i also try to avoid all social events and simple things like going to the shops. it is getting to the point where i am getting really depressed, sometimes think about self harm and drinking alcohol to try take my mind off it.

i am one of those people that needs others around them but because i am so scared of being social that i have got no friends anymore since leaving school only a couple of months ago. i have never had a relationship and want one more and more everyday but can't talk to anyone and avoid all situations where i would meet someone.

if you have any advice or guidance can you leave a message below.
 
Hi nlockwood :) well welcome to the forum

There are lots of things that you can do that will help you :) It would be good maybe to talk to your gp about getting a psych referal? Therapy really helps especially CBT which actually helps you reprogramme the way you think about situations and helps you to relax in social settings. There's also group therapy for when you're feeling a bit braver
