Yup...I'm in college, so I have roommates. The first one I had was only my roommate for about a month...I scared him into a fraternity (me=1, him=0). He dropped out of engineering after the first semester (me=1, him=-1), and college after the first year (me=1, him=-2). He was actually a nice person...just enjoyed partying to much. He was ok to room with except that he had to listen to music to go to sleep, and I need complete silence to go to sleep. He kept his stereo on all night...I could never work up the courage to tell him he was an asshole for doing that (me=0, him=-2). I was pleased to see him go. Didn't have a roommate the rest of my first year so that was super good.
My second year I roomed with one of the 4 people I actually met in my classes. We pretty much keep to ourselves so it worked out pretty good...except that he likes to stay up all night and sleep all day and the clicking of a keyboard kept me up many many many nights.
This year I roomed with the same person, as well as two of the other four people I had met. We had an apartment, but the person I was sharing a room with still didn't seem to understand that when I was trying to go to sleep he should go in the other room with his computer (he had a laptop, and we had wireless internet...no reason he couldn't move). Once again though, I never told him he was an asshole...I was just an asshole back to him. I also ended up having to do pretty much all the cleaning and shopping for the four of us as well.
Next year I am rooming with the same three people, but we each have separate rooms. So, although I may have to do all of the shopping and cleaning still, I won't have to put up with someone keeping me up all night...yay.
Moral of the story...roommates suck if you can't stand up for yourself.
