You are invited to participate in a study of how judgements and impressions are made while people interact online. The purpose of this study is to allow two strangers to chat online, and then see what each person thought of themselves and their chat partner.
We are particularly interested in people between 17 and 35 years old who are normally shy, or find it difficult to meet new people.
As a participant in this study, you will:
Upon completion of both parts of the study, you will have the opportunity to enter into a draw to win a $75 gift card.
This study is being completed as part of my Psychology Honours degree at Macquarie University, and has been fully approved by the ethics committee.

- be matched up with another participant to have a (text based) chat online
- complete an online survey following the chat
- log in 2 days later and complete another short online survey
