Hey everyone, as you can see, I'm new here. I expect there have been several threads similar to this, but I was hoping that someone could help me out.
I have relatively severe hh, in my hands, feet, and pits. Since it's the most pressing concern, I'm trying to do something about my hands first. I've put together a homemade iontophoresis machine using alligator clips, pie pans, and lantern batteries like in that popular youtube video. At first, using 18v shocked me badly enough that I just used two batteries (12v total; I only weigh 140 lbs too, so I didn't know whether my body just had a low tolerance or what) for a while. After seven sessions with no change (no decrease in sweating or any increase like I've seen has been mentioned as a potential first effect), I added the third battery, thereby bumping it up to 18v. The very first time shocked me again, but I stuck it out until the feeling went away after a few minutes. Now 18v doesn't shock me whatsoever anymore. I suppose this should be a good thing, but I'm worried that it means that the treatment isn't having any effect.
I've done 18v sessions for seven straight days (about 12 or so minutes on each polarity for a 25 minute session each time), after doing 12v sessions seven out of ten days before that. I've seen no change whatsoever. At what point should I know whether this will help me? I'm completely willing to keep going with it, I'm just kind of worried about whether the treatments are having any effect. Thanks for any help in advance.
