Wow in general Americans are SO much more friendly compared to Canadians (at least where i'm from)! Here (eastern Washington) if you are having a conversation with somebody loudly enough, random people will just stop by and join in. Or if you're in the store, people actually share about their lives. It's actually really intimidating but soo refreshing, there are people out there that aren't so closed off.
Our car broke down at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere and some lady nicely picked us up and took us to her sister's farm house, and has been pretty much driving us everywhere ever since for the last 3 days. They seem to more openly talk about their problems too.

Were you anywhere near Seattle? I've heard they're actually quite friendly over there, despite the grey weather most of the year. In my hometown over in northern IL, there are some of the nastiest, meanest, rudest people this country has to offer, haha.
