was browsing the net for social phobia info when i found this site. its so cool to read other peoples experiences and to see that other people have the same feelings as me. had a laugh to myself about the hairdresser thread. i hate getting my haircut too. anyway, i was wondering if anyone else is on seroxat(paxil). I have been on it for about 3 years(30mg) a day. have been trying to come off them(what a nightmare) :D I went cold turkey for about a week, i was fine for the first 4 days but on the fith day i felt like i was dying. i was sick as a dog and felt very strange. can't even explain it. anyway i had to go back on them. have been coming off slowly for the past 2 months(15 mg every second day). Finding it difficult now to cut down any more. Tried skipping 2 days but just got that strange sick feeling back again. and i thought these things weren't addictive. Has anyone else had similar experiences also has anyone managed to come off them and how did you manage it. i work 5 days a week and its not easy going into work feeling like crap- i'm shy anyway and when you feel miserable as well as being shy its not a very good combination.

Hi, I'm also on paxil, been for about 4 years. I was on 30 mg for a while, but just last week increased to 40 mg cause I'm feeling pretty bad lately.
I tried getting off as well, and it only lasted about 2 weeks, then I tried Prozac (which was awful) and eventually went back to the paxil. One disturbing thing I've noticed is that I get withdrawal symptoms if i don't take it for 1 day or 2, like these weird sensations in my hands and sleep disturbances. That's all I can really say about paxil. I do hear that paxil is one of the worse for quitting though. It's frightening the stories I've heard. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about this and she/he can suggest some way of making the transition easier. I sincerely hope to be off of these pills too one day...good luck

I was off and on Zoloft twice now. I just restarted it but god when I quit cold turkey the last two times it was awful. My whole body hurt
and my head keep buzzing and I felt like I was gonna loose conciousness constantly. I think I was on about 200 mg last time I quit...
