the problem with tapes is that they wont make u go out and socialise, although they can be inspiring, yes (im referring to dr. richards cognitive behavioural therapy tapes).
A lot of people had success with these tapes, but exposure has to be a factor too (meaning you have to go out and expose yourself to social situations, or it won't work)
Use relaxation and your imagination to imagine situations that make you anxious. After doing that for a while, go out in the real world and expose yourself. Exposing yourself to situations you are anxious to right away can be harmful. You have to do it in a systematic way and in baby steps.
