oral presentations ='(

I have an oral presentation next week and I'm getting extremely nervous. :'(

I haven't slept over it and my stomach's been hurting me lately just knowing that the day is coming closer.
I just want to get over this fear of getting in front of people and not making a fool out of myself. (trust me, you wouldn't want to watch. It's so embarassing!)

I haven't done a presentation in a year or two because I never shown up and gotten a F for it. This is my last semester and I want to actually present but I don't know if I could do it. I'm already convincing myself not to go.

Any advice or tips, please?

GO FIRST!! GET IT OVER WITH.

This is prob the main reason i am glad i am out of school now. I hated presentations. I'll only have to make one now if its work related.

But, I always went 1st, 2nd or 3rd. If you can volunteer to go, go asap. When I didnt go among the first ppl, i sat there shaking the whole time. And if presentations were done on more than one day, it would be frustrating to do it the next day when i could have been done with it.

Also, the more confident you are about a topic, the less nervous you will be. It wont go away completely but it helps.
My last presentation was for a computer class. I had researched domain names and i added a slide or 2 with a joke. The class laughed, it encouraged me to go on.

Good luck!

I agree with going first. If you go first, no one will remember how nervous you were by the end of the class. I too had a presentation recently, and being prepared/knowledgeable on the topic and having note cards definitely helps.

... Now I see that this thread is 2 weeks old. How did the presentation go?!
