Hi there,
I'm a 34 year old London guy, living with SA and all it's consequences. I'm looking for other people who, like me, live with this condition for some online e-mail support. We don't have to meet up in real life or become life long buddies, but it would be really helpful for me, and hopefully you too, in dealing with all this stuff.
I'm hoping for some kind of recovery/change of perspective, and I feel if there was someone else out there with whom we could just tell about our weak - achievements, setbacks, funny stuff - some of our experiences in living with this, then that would help in not having to carry it all around by ourselves.
Apart from my GP I have not told anyone about my SA and have not been able to work for the past 6 years because the anxiety was just to intense and overwhelming. My GP has just put me on Propanolol for the anxiety and I am waiting for a CBT course to start. I have also just started to read the book course 'Overcoming Social Anxiety and Shyness' By Dr Gillian Butler.
I suppose what I am looking for is some kind of online mentoring thing with someone who is working on their condition and trying to overcome it. Somewhere we can offer advice, support , encouragement or just have a good old bloody moan! Like I said, no pressure to meet up, that is not what it is about, so weather your from London, Scotland, USA, Europe, it don't matter cause I'm only looking for an online thing!
If anyone fancy's giving it a go then please get in touch and let me know a bit about you and where your at!
All the best!
