Me: 41 yo male homeowner, live alone
Situation: I'm a long time sufferer, but I've managed to carve a decent life out for myself except for a few nagging situations.....the worst of which is...
I have not been able to introduce myself to the neighbor across the street for 5 years. I was also unable to introduce myself to the people who lived their before for 2 years.
The neighbor is a single woman with a grade school daughter. This is a shameful thing for me, I was a great neighbor to the former homeowners (who introduced themselves to me when I moved in), it is like some High School nightnare, as I duck into my car quickly, avoiding eye contact or pretending not too notice anyone is there, or being only able too work outside when she is not home, etc. all too avoid the emarrasment of having to explain and introduce myself.
Like I said, this has been going on for 5 years, this woman must think I'm either the biggest nut in the world, or the meanest SOB ever, and I'm neither.
Any advice/ words of encouragement on how to handle this situation/nightmare will be truly appreciated.
