Need advice

I need some advice. I am currently in college, 2nd year (though if you consider the other colleges I was at, then my 5th), and I am having a life crisis. I just can't handle school anymore, I can't handle the timed classes, then having to have things done etc, I have been going in and out of major depression and I am to the point where I want to start everything over. Sadly, I can't, not with the loans I owe. I was looking into new meds with the doctor on campus, but if I withdraw, which is what I want, so I have time off, then I lose that support, and have no doctor. But if I stay I have a chance of failing so bad I can't ever come back. What should I do?

I was having the same issue and I quit, or took a break from school two months ago. I'm glad I did. I would have lost my doctor if I quit but a few strings were pulled and I was able to still see him...but in a few weeks he will no longer be working there so I'll end up losing him anyways. There's other doctors out there, but it's not that easy to get in to see one. I lost a doctor but I was able to keep taking the meds. My family doctor just prescribes them for me.
For 3 years now I've been failing because I go in and out of depression. I finally realized after failing many classes, that I had to do something. I hated the decision but I finally decided to go with what I truly wanted, what made me happy and what I (not anyone else) thought was best for me. So now I'm getting some help and support and in the future maybe I can finish my education but for now, the stress was too much and making me go in circles.

Go to the doctor. Giving up will only solve this one problem. If the doctor helps you, it'll solve a lot of problems.

What helped me get through college when my depression was bad was taking the time to sit down with my all of my course materials and make a huge To Do list of all the things for each class I'd need to do to pass. By organizing things visually it helped to make it seem less overwhelming so that I could get through it. Then I'd decide what needed to be done each day to either catch up or stay as current as possible. Definitely talk with your doctor about the fact that you want to take some time away from school - at my former school it was possible to take medical/personal leave for a semester or a year and then come back with no problems. If you're worried about failing out of school and don't think there's anything you can do at this point to pass, you should take a leave of absence so that you'll still have the option to go back in the future. If your doctor is affiliated with your school you should have no problem getting him/her to sign off on something like this. And withdrawal from classes you're in now is better than waiting it out and failing. Get what you can from your doctor while you have them but don't stay in school if you think it will compromise your plans for the future. Perhaps they can refer you to someone after you leave with sliding scale payment? That's what I did between high school and college, it wasn't free but it was really cheap. Hope any of this helps, good luck! :)
