I have been reading about this and the ideas really appeal to me

I wonder if it can be applied without a therapist. Anyone familiar with it? Recommend any books? Anyway, I hope it is of interest to someone.

From the wiki article: "Ultimately, the successful student of Morita therapy learns to accept the internal fluctuations of thoughts and feelings and ground his behavior in reality and the purpose of the moment. Cure is not defined by the alleviation of discomfort or the attainment of some ideal feeling state (which the philosophy of this approach opposes), but by taking constructive action in one’s life which helps one to live a full and meaningful existence and not be ruled by one’s emotional state."

This is very interesting stuff. It seems a lot like the Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) I've been doing on my own for the last couple of years. Amazon has a book on it called "Morita Therapy and the True Nature of Anxiety-Based Disorders (Shinkeishitsu)" by Masatake Morita (Author), Akihisa Kondo (Author), Peg Levine (Author). I'm going to order it and check it out. ACT has helped me a lot, but I'm always looking for ways to improve it. Thanks for the info.
