I don't know why but I sometimes feel like I need to tell someone I exist. I can't explain it but I feel like as long as I'm remembered I won't be seen as a nobody. We are all going to die one day but as long as you make a difference in the world and be known you will be immortal. For example Everyone knows who Christopher Columbus is or Gorge Washington. These people haven't been forgotten they have become immortalized within western society. I feel if someone can accomplish this they can live forever. I want to do something great but with this anxiety I know it won't happen. For now all I can say is I existed, and i was cared about by someone.

I found this clip one day, maybe you'll find it inspiring like I did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYC8fTv2jp4

Why do you want to be immortalised if you are going to be dead anyway? When you are dead, you will not be alive so you would not care if people remember you when you were alive.

Christopher Columbus was a coloniser. By colonising the America's he helped kill thousands of native indians. That is just like saying George Bush should be immortalised because he secured oil reserves for Western countries so they can be dependent on oil for a further 10 years.

As for Johnnie Walker, most of us have SA so we feel too much, we need to be de-sensitized just like a robot.

Sorry I don't mean to be rude but your views are a little underdeveloped. What would immortality give you? Why is it so good to feel alive? What is so good about Christopher Columbus?

It's a basic human fear to be totally forgotten about. To just die and go to nothing, with nobody caring or remembering who you were.

Do the best you can in your own little world, and you will be remembered for all the right reasons. Not everybody can be a George Washington or a Columbus.

Columbus was an example, I wanted someone everyone knew about and he just popped in my head. and the one above this post got what I meant. Being immortalized means you won't be forgotten. My views are by no means under developed.
