I actually left high school and went to college when I was 17 so I know what you're going through right now. I tried to stick it out, and you're probably making a good decision by waiting to go to college. College students with social anxiety, and especially unusually young ones, tend to have a tough time fitting in. I know I did. I'm back in the town I grew up in after two years of attempts at completing semesters at carious colleges and universities, only completing the very first (with straight A's I might add, lol). I withdrew a few weeks into the second semester, and about a month into the third, due to the social phobia.
Now comes the part that answers you're question. Just like you, I didn't want to apply for jobs and the only ones I ever even had were college work-study jobs that they had to give me or a job in my mom's business. I started looking online for online schooling for a career that didn't involve much social interaction. After much research I narrowed down my search to medical transcription. Basically, you just type reports that doctors dictate onto tapes or voice files (many times from your home and on your own time). You have to learn all sorts of medical terminology, anatomy, grammar, all the tools of the trade, and you have to be able to type fast, but I'm well into my first month of training with careerstep.com
I have a friend who did this and now works in a doctor's office, but I'm working hard and learning a lot so I'll get hired right out of graduation by a transcription company.
I hope this helped...
Peace
