Is Klonopin the best/one of the best SA meds?

I've been taking it for LSD-induced psychosis. I'm not much of a pyschotic anymore, but I'm still using Klonopin because I start talking to people, going into conversations, etc. I felt the best combo for you to become THE MAN (or woman) is to take klonopin and some alcohol (not a lot of alcohol, just enough to get tipsy). Man, there's not a girl I won't talk to or saying anything I want to say.

Are there better meds for making you this outgoing? Peace

I take klonopin it works great for me , i wouldn't say drink with it but i do sometimes so im not gonna be hippocritical. I take 1-2mg per day so i can function in the social enviroment and my doctor said it's the best benzo for SA.

You shouldnt drink on klonopin. It will make you unafraid of things you should fear.

My example is that I drove drunk many times and ended getting DUI eventually. Now I would not normally drive drunk but on this amount I was not afraid of the consequences.

Also mixing benzo and alcohol nearly killed me many times and it destroys your memory.

Klonopin and benzos are good pills but they must not be mixed with alcohol.

Klonopin is good for social anxiety and I took 4mg/day for 2 years. Eventually I got tolerant and dependent to it. Its worth it as long as you are prepared for the withdrawal.

I am on Xanax now as this is better drug for me. It hits you quicker and stops panic attack. With the Klonopin, it took me an hour to feel and it wasnt good for panic attack.

Adderall XR/Ritalin is the best med for SA IMO. It doesnt take away your anxiety directly but it makes you want to face it, thus exposure, thus indirectly helping your anxiety.

Klonopin or any other benzo is 2nd only to Addy/ritalin.

I'm intrigued about this Adderall XR and Ritalin. However, I do have to say one thing though: klonopin doesn't beat alcohol in terms of overall removing your social fears/making you much more sociable. But when you mix them, man oh man. It's sad that they shouldn't be mixed, but I heard that the only effect is that alcohol increases the efficacy of the benzos, which I don't mind.

Klonopin definitely beats all the SA meds out there, IMO. It works as strong as Xanax for twice as long so, yeah, it's the best anti-anxiety med. Most doctors won't precribe stimulant like Adderall and Ritalin because they have this idea engraved in their minds that stimulants are bad for people like us. I've taken Adderall and Ritalin without a script before, though, and it allowed me to become the person I've always wanted to be... Outgoing, smiley, and not happy sitting in my room all day. I wanna bring it up to my doctor but I'm afraid she'll label me as a drug seeker or something stupid like that.

I guess following comb. is the best. I'm on a simillar one now:

long term: SSRI(celexa(20mg)+zoloft(100mg)) + beta blocker(inderal)
when needed: benzo(klonopin)
occasionally: stimulant(adderall)
(important: ask your psychiatrist first)

Don't rely only on meds coz at best you should expect less than 30% improvement from them.

To Ehsan:

SSRIs neverr had any effect whatsoever on my panic disorder. Neither did Zoloft, or beta blockers. I take Klonopin 1 mg now 3 times daily, so I agree with that. I also agree with the stimulant idea, but good luck finding a psychiatrist to give it to you for anxiety. I agree with Noca that a stimulant/benzo combination would work the best. I know this combo damn near cures my panic attack problems.

I've tried many SSRIs and i've read lots of papers about them

i agree that effect of SSRIs isn't as strong as klonopin but effect of klonopin diminishes rapidly and body resists to it while SSRIs have a more persistent effect.
SSRIs take time to show their effect and their effect persists after discontinuation but their effect is something about 30% improvement in LSAS score.
i don't regard benzos as a cure for SP.

You got me all wrong Ehsan. I'm well aware that SSRIs take time to work, and I waited for them to work. Unfortunately, none of the three that I tried had any effect on me whatsoever. I never regarded benzos as a cure for SP either. I have panic disorder, meaning I have recurrent panic attacks every day. Benzos don't cure me, but they make the panic attacks less intense.
