Iontophoresis query

Well i was diagnosed with hyperhidrosis of the palms when i was about 12, i'm now 19. I have an Iontophoresis machine (Idrostar one) which recently i have started to use again as i have never kept to it properly but i want to get rid of my problem now. Due to starting college in the last few weeks and it has been a nuisance, writing on paper leaving my paper manky and visibly wet/damp. i know my case isn't as bad as some of the people on this forums but any help would be appreciated.

Does Iontophoresis completely stop all sweating sweating?
I can tell a difference after using it, my hands are dry and don't sweat. My hands don't sweat when im calm or not thinking about them even in a hot room. But it seems like if i think wow my hands are dry i start sweating slowly, then if in college for example i kinda get a lil nervous because my palms are sweating which isn't normal to most and want to avoid any contact which in turn only makes them sweat more.
I'm nervous because i sweat and sweat because i'm nervous.

Are their any additives i could use to increase its affect?

For people who use Iontophoresis machines how high do you turn up the power on them?
Currently i put it up to about 20mA

And what schedule do you use and do you find it successful?

Any help would be grateful. Reply on topic or message i don't bite :)

Hi Thorpe19,

Sorry to hear about your situation in college, we've all been there I can tell you that. The cycle is a killer, hopefully though you can break that cycle with Ionto. Doctors recommend an initial treatment of once every day for 16-18 days at 20-40 mins each session depending on where you suffer from HH, and at 18-20mA. After that stick to it every 2-4 days depending on how quick the sweating returns.

With regards solutions in the water, that really depends on how effective you're finding the treatment. Once you've done the initial 16 days+, and you don't see any good results from it, your water may not be holding a good enough charge. Baking soda has been known to increase the charge, but if the water is just too low in minerals then it's pretty much dead, there's no chance of increasing it's charge...

You can also try using antiperspirants in combination with it, and you can also add something called glycopyrronium bromide to the water which you can get that from your doctor.

Good luck with breaking the cycle mate and let us know how you get on!
