This happens to everyone. People will generally be nice to your face, because it is easier. The truth comes out when you are not around. Some people do this more than others, and are jerks, but I think everyone does it to some extent. I know if I were at work and was rude to everyone I did not like it would not go over well.
Try to figure out who really is on your side and try not to worry about the others.
