Warning loooooooong ass post.
So as part of my attempt to get my life back I've been trying to get an ID/drivers license. I was working on getting one way back, but that's about the time my SA really started to take a turn for the worse.
So about 4-5 months ago i went with my uncle to eastern Washington to help him with a job. While we were there he said he would help me get an ID and that he would get me started on learning to drive. This sounded like a great opportunity as he told me that the DMV that they have there is very small and that there was hardly anyone ever there. So i felt pretty good about it. Well.....apparently we caught them at a bad time, because when we got there, there was like 10 people there already, and the whole DMV was just a small 10x10 room! There was more people coming in about every 10 minutes, it was really getting cramped. Finally we were called up.
So we got up there and explained the situation to the lady there and she just looked at me and said "you have never had a drivers license?". I was embarrassed enough that i was 21 and still didn't have a ID let alone a drivers license, but the way she said it and looked at me, and the fact that everybody in the room could hear just made it worse. I felt like just running out of the room.
She then proceeds to tell me in a rather rude manner that i need FIVE pieces of proof of residence! I had brought my birth certificate and social security card and we figured that would be enough. My uncle was surprised at how much proof we needed and said he couldn't even supply that much proof for himself!
I was pretty disappointed to go all that way and come back empty handed but at least she gave me a list of things that would be acceptable as proof of ID.
So back at home here my mom and i have been going over this list of acceptable proof of ID and one of the things was a proof of payment of a bill in my name. So first thing to do would be to open an account in my name so that i can pay a bill sounded easy enough. Only problem is i need ID to open an account ugh!
Luckily We have an account in both My mom, and I's name. So we figure we would just switch over the internet bill to my name through that account. Every thing was going good until the lady on the phone helping us switch over my name to the account tells us that we need ID to finish the transaction UGH! :x
I'm really beginning to become discouraged because it really seems to be a CATCH 22 situation. most of this stuff on the list requires ID to get. Yet i need it to get the damn ID. And it just seems like as far as the government and other organizations are concerned, as long as i don't have an ID i never existed. :?
Anyway sorry for the long post, just had to get that out. Sorry if this doesn't belong here. I wasn't sure where to post it.
