I think I lost my only friend today

I told them I really like them, even though I haven't seen them for a year, but have kept in contact. They were freaked out and lost for words.

This is bad, I don't know what I will do.

in the title you say to have lost your only friend today, then why do you speak about 'them' in your post?

And why were they freaked out, because you said you liked them or because they didn't see you for a year?

Maybe they were just a bit lost for words at what you had said because you hadn't seen them for a year..I wouldn't worry about it though

Well at least they are still speaking to me. I say 'they' but I mean 'she'.

I didn't see them in person either, still haven't for over a year. But when they (SHE!) is your only friend you remember every little bit of interaction.
