I hate salesmen!

I've got like 1000 dollars burning in pocket that wants a new acoustic guitar. I've even picked one out online, but I can't hit the submit button until I've actually heard one. The problem is that I havn't been in an instrument store for ummm like 10 years. Also, I'll probably just freeze up and won't know if I like the thing or not. uhhhhhhhhggggggg.

hiya Sport...cool you have money burning hole in your pocket 8) ...wish i did..could you order the one online, then send it back if you don't like it?...or.. get someone to go with you to the music store..to help?..usually if i absolutely have to go into a store or something, i go first thing in the morning..when it's just opening up..so it's not too busy hopefully and staff are busy getting ready for the day ..good luck!

I hate salesmen as well Sport. I find a lot of them, when buying electrical products, completely lacking. Also, it's very difficult to make a rational, calm decision when you're just in panic mode and can't concentrate on what they're saying. I usually research things endlessly on the net before buying on the high street.

I went today and checked out some Taylors. The salesmen actually left me alone. The guitar sounded good, but I forgot to check some adjustments that guitar players check for. DOhhhhhhh

...and of course, we know that non-SA people would be back to that store and others checking things they forgot and re-checking things they already did. Only it wouldn't be an ordeal each visit.

I know it seems a bit rude but I hate it when they come up to you. If I need their help I'll ask for it, but otherwise I prefer to do my shopping in peace.

I've been known to run from a few of them. OK, alot of them. For example, I'll be looking at shoes and I see one coming straight for me. I make a complete 180 and walk out of the store., or just walk the opposite direction. It's according how big the store is.

And there's also the fact that some tend to be paid commission, so instead of being honest, they say want you want to hear so you just buy the product.
