Most people actually want to skip the friend stage altogether, when it comes to that. Then it's just becoming more than an acquaintance. And that's from virtually nowhere. But it's true that they say friendship can hinder attraction. I can never think about a friend that way.

I don't got too much experience on situations like that, but the few times it's happened... Can I say both fear and shyness? I'm always shy when talking to strangers, whether they're interested or not. But when/if I realize they want anything more than just small talk, that's when I freak out and wanna get away from the situation.

Maybe it's just because the few times it has happened it's been some creepy drunk guy, usually twice my age... But I'm anyways pretty anxious and fearful of "romantic" situations like that.

well at first i would try to convince myself that such a thing would be impossible, and if the signs are so obvious i react in some way. Being a guy, i don't panic when/if girls approach, given i'm not around anyone that knows me, and preferably there is no people in sight.
