Yea, I've seen plenty and some of my favs are:

  • Candyman (nice haunting soundtrack)
    Alien
Aliens (a sequel just as excellent as the first film- a rarity)
Halloween (just the first one, not the others!)
The Haunting (b/w version made in the 1960s- very atmospheric)

never seen the Haunting, just the recent crappy American Haunting. :p lame.

Hey vv :D I don't watch a lot of horror movies - i have a nasty overactive imagination BUT these are some movies that scared me - keep in mind i am a bit of a wuss so they may not be all that scary for others.
The exorcism of Emily Rose just freaked me out. And The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was creepy - same with Jeepers Creepers - i think i shall live with a permanent fear of little country American towns.

I don't like horror movies much anymore, and mostly it's that I have SA already lol, but there were a couple I did like that was very good all the way.

I was pervious a horror-movie fan, not anymore though. (At least I'd like to think that) The reason for that is probably that I have seen way too many already and to be honest there is a lot of reproduction particular in that genre.

One of the most scary ones I would say has to be The Blair Witch Project, the reason for that is probably that I watched it when I was naive enough to believe the hype that it was a true documentary! And it honestly freaked me out for days! 8O

Btw, VV, I see you have an avatar of The Ring (?) which i.m.o also was a reasonable effective horror-film. Not too scary though.

Twin Peaks (the series) is probably the production that has offered me most sleepless nights, nightmares and an ongoing habit of having to check under my bed and my closet every night before going to sleep. It was a very good show though, but for me watching it as a 12 year old was not a very good idea...
It actually got to the stage that after I returned to my mothers house after a school party at night and did not find her at home, I started to imagine that she would lie dead under the couch 'wrapped in plastic'!
Not only that, when I went to the bathroom shortly after, I opened the door and then something fell over me! 8O Luckily it was just my mothers jacket...it would be futile to say that TG there was a toilet in there!

She's dead. Wrapped in plastic.

I got into watching horror movies because I still had memories of being absolutely terrified of "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Hellraiser" and others that I had watched when I was young. I watched a lot of them over the last few years and found out that I was scared because I was so young when I watched them. Still watch a scatter one now and then.
