Hello Everyone im new here and I have social phobia. I've been reading some of the posts and its amazing how much I can relate to so many of you guys. I hope I can make some friends here and share some of my own experiences.
Has anybody here read "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle? He refers to the voice that everybody has in their head and he calls this voice the "ego"
"Most people are so completely identified with the voice in the head- the incessant stream of involuntary and compulsive thinking and the emotions that accompany it-that we may describe them as being possessed by the mind. This is the egoic mind"
As a person who has social phobia I am completely consumed by that voice in my head, it runs my life and controls my emotions. I can not separate it from who I am. Im thinking that perhaps this is why I have social phobia. If anybody else has read this book I would love to get your opinion.
