Um. Hi. :]
Well, to start this off, i'm fifteen right now and most likely suffering from severe social phobia. not that my parents know much. my parents witnessed one of my panic attacks about three years ago, but i haven't been too bad since.
but it's still pretty bad. i don't know anyone other than me who can't pick up a phone and dial pizza hut because they are too embarased. anyone who can't email a guy on the internet without going over exactly what they are going to say.
so i'm not sure how i should get to the topic with my parents. it's not exactly like you just sit down during the long car ride to school and say 'hey, mom! today i got a 57 questions positive out of a possible 68 on a quiz for social phobia disorder on the internet! take me to the doctor?' and my biggest fear is of being judged.
joy oh joy.
any suggestions to help a poor girl out?

It is not always as simple as that. Sometimes our problems are deep rooted and to talk to someone about this is very difficult. i sympathize. i am in a similar position to you. the only people who seem to understand are the people on this site (from what i have read so far). It is something that will not go away unless we tackle it however. I believe the best way is to try and stay positive however hard it may seem and treat each day as a small step on the way to improvement. perhaps set aside the 10mins or so before we go to sleep at night to only concentrate on the positive things which have happened that day and to think about the nice things people have done or said to us however small they may seem. This will then allow us to not be so judgemental and will improve our self confidence.
