Hey ya'll!

I'm new here at socialphobiaworld and would like to formally introduce myself.
My name is Vito, I'm 32 and I'm from Texas (Austin to be exact).

I've been dealing with social anxiety/ social phobia since I was a little spud. More aggressively in the past 10 years. I've been on zoloft, celexa, paxil, effexor, cymbalta, prozac, lithium, seriquil, lamictal, valium, xanax, adderall, buspar, inderal, baclofen and probably some other meds I'm forgetting. My SA is more on the severe side as I am on disability due to it. I have been misdiagnosed a bunch (depression, add, bi-polar) and due to my self-medication for many years I developed a drug and alcohol addiction. I am currently in recovery and have 85 days sober(!).

Well, that's me in a nutshell. I'm very glad to be here and have found this forum. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and sharing in this 'experience' called social anxiety disorder.

Namaste,

-Abstract

p.s I'm still searching for the medication that will somewhat subdue my SA. I haven't yet found the right med(s) and still am dealing with a great amount of anxiety on a minute to minute, day to day basis. But I am hopeful and I'll will definitely post my journey.

These are the meds I'm currently on (daily):

* zoloft 100mg
* buspar 30mg
* inderal 80mg
* baclofen 30mg

Hi Vito, welcome to SPW!

My opinion is: meds are useless and dangerous. Instead ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) has worked for me. Check it out, and hopefully it'll help you too.
