I just did an online test and apparenly I've got severe social phobia. I think I should try get some help for it, but I'm scared that the doctor will say there's nothing wrong mith me and that I'm just a hypochodriac. I tried to tell my bf that I think I've got it, but he just dismissed it and said that I'm a bit shy. What should I do?

well first things first sounds like your sorta panicing, don't worry about it so much, just make an appt with your doc's and tell them the symptoms you've been having.

Well, whatever you've had all this time, you still have it (probably). You'll make matters worse if you blow it out of proportion. Keep in mind, disorders are not package deals, they are simply convinient ways to describe a set of conditions that often go together. Most people do not have every symptom, and have some symptoms not completely explained by any given 'disorder'. The difference between shyness and social anxiety is vague at best. There are some definite differences, but you probably don't know or understand all of them and you shouldn't be diagnosing yourself, leave that to someone with much more experience and training. Do yourself a favour and don't make it worse than it is...
