i guess my situation is kinda strange.. i have a group of really great friends and i am really out going and chatty with all of them

but at school whenever i am asked to read out loud from a book or give a presentation or even answer a question i feel physically sick. i sit there trembling and stuttering my words. because of this i have skipped school or faked illness for the fear of speaking infront of my class

a few years ago i moved from england to scotland and got teased quite badly about my accent. although i dont now i think that might have something to do with it

i really dont know what to do.. i start back at school in a few days and the thought of it is making me nervous

i really need to get over this or my grades will suffer.. my mum is a nurse and we're very close but i still dont feel like i can talk to her about this

thanks for listening lol

This sounds familiar! This is how my social anxiety started. You should try to do something before it gets worse.

Open up to your mum. I bet she'll be really supportive. Explain to her that it's really a big concern to you. Then, i would go to see your doctor - it might sound a bit drastic, but they'll be able to tell you what options are available. Maybe you could see a counsellor?

Try not to let it get you down, but do something about it before it becomes a weight on your shoulders.
