I hardly ever post introductions, but this time why not?

My name is Amy and I'm 19, living in Toronto with my family. I go to U of T, but currently I'm off for the summer.
I never really join forums to talk to people, I just tend to lurk so that I can be satisfied with the knowledge that I'm not alone with my issues.

I've only been formally diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, but I grapple with avoidance, agoraphobia, general anxiety, and OCD (BDD).
I'm positive I have a mood disorder of some sort as well, likely hypomania or cyclothymia.

I'm a little bit afraid of the idea of going on medication, so to cope I really enjoy learning how to bake (although I hardly ever go through with it, I just collect recipes and watch a lot of the Food Network), watch a lot of movies and listen to copious amounts of music (dub-step, IDM, experimental, etc.), draw/paint, and occupy myself with various other hobbies that are usually short-lived.

I'll leave it at that for now!

Yes, St. George is quite nice. I lived there on campus. It was pretty anxiety provoking for the whole first semester adjusting to the communal living experience.

My first year was interesting...a lot of changes occured in that time. I've come out of it knowing with greater certainty what I want to do.

Hi and welcome,
its interesting how many people with SP tend to draw or paint. I also love drawing and movies, thats my life right now, and sometimes I read some book. These things keeps me busy when I dont go out, but atleast I know Im doing something usefull.
