have you? Just curious. I need to admit I haven't. That is one of those
little advantages of social phobia that the narcotic drug access is
impossible).

give your vote here, it'll be interesting to get know.

I'm not too bothered, I've smoked and that's as far as I've gone.

on the other hand, the closest i've got to being around drugs was with a few or my more 'interesting' friends, ended up trying to buy some stuff on the street in the form of a small cling-filmy ball, the fools. I parted ways on the train home, and i heard afterwards it was a block of wood. They tried to burn it but i don't think you get much from a mini wood fire's smoke.

Hah, what idiots. So, that was the closest i ever got to a drug experience. I didnt' even get to see the wood!

Ah well, as i said i really don't care, untill i find out somehow, drugs will mean nothing to me.

Yeah I've had alot of sesions in my time, out partying when I was younger, don't do much nowadays but have some wicked memories.

Oh I'm not promoting drugs by the way, definitly not on a mental health forum.

They can effect people in different ways and if you want to get rid of anxiety and paronoa drugs are definitly not a good idea beleive me.

Health concerns aside, illegal drugs are probably the last thing a person trying to overcome any form of anxiety needs.

Definetly!

I only smoked pot . Released my anxiety and made me less tired.
Allrite, lets edited this a bit. Sometimes was good, sometimes not so good (Various trippin). I think it didnt changed a bit my personality. So, still screwed most of a time :(
Pitty it isnt legal , because i think it actually helps some people.

Ive heard that ghb makes wonders?

Absoloutly, WHILE YOU ARE HIGH ON THE DRUG! when you come off most of these drugs you get a come down which makes you paronoid, anxies and depressed.
I smoked weed every day from when I was 16-20 and it played real tricks with my mind and I think it did make my situation worse.
With weed some people can handle it more than others but it will bite you one day if abused.
Drinking and ecstacy help my sp loads when i'm high obviously. But when I've got a hangover the next day I feel really bad again.
Don't be foold into thinking drugs will help you. I use them moderatly as a sort of break from my troubles, once you start thinking they help the problem, that is when you become dependant and thats no joke as my brother can tell you.

I smoked pot before my issues with SA and I was fine I enjoyed the experience but if I smoke it now I get even more paranoid of what people are thinking of me, my body will tense up and will hardly move or say anything to anyone, not very nice.

I have also dabbled with extacy about a year ago, and to be honest it was very nice while you’re on the drug that is, you seen to see the world in a different light and all your insecurities are gone, I felt as if I could talk to anyone any where. BUT the day and the following week (longer for some) you don’t just feel depressed you are depressed very depressed (the come down). Although you know you feel this bad depressed because of the drug it doesn’t seem to register at the time and you feel as if all these problems that are causing your depression will never go away and that you will always feel this bad, that’s why I said ‘you don’t just feel depressed you are depressed’ I have felt suicidal at times after taking extacy.

I no longer smoke pot nor do I take extacy, although the extacy buzz was a nice relief for a few hours it really was NOT worth it.

As I understand it paranoia from smoking pot varies from person to person but every one that take extacy suffers from the come down and it will affect some worse than others, I would imagine the come down would affect people in our situation very badly like it did for me because from taking the drug we have acquired something we have been longing for a long long time.

In no way shape or form am I promoting any drugs and I would especially like to say that depressed people should definitely stay away from extacy as the come down could affect you very badly.

Hope this interested you and feel free to ask any questions.

Here's the paradox... in my experience they work really well! so well that I did so much that they stopped working. And then your anxiety is the secondary symptom to something much worse - addiction.

BTW the poll doesn't apply to me, I've done everyone on the list plus a few more :(

No, I haven't tried any drugs, and I don't particularly want to as I have enough problems as it is!

What a coincidence that as soon as I get into this thread, my brother enters my room and asks me if I want any pot. Of course, I was happy to take some off his hands, and I'm about to go get blazed.

Yeah, I know what you're all thinking: drugs are no help when it comes to coping with SP, but I haven't been visiting my doctor lately because my insurance doesn't cover it, and pot is really the only thing that relaxes me after a stressful day. I'm not saying weed is a good way to combat SP, but I have to admit it does help take the edge off when necessary.

To answer the thread's question, I've tried other drugs too in the past, such as ecstacy, cocaine, DXM, shrooms, and opiates. I doubt that I'll every do any drug other than pot ever again, though. I tried all those other drugs during an "experimental phase" that many teenagers go through. I'm glad that's over, but I have other problems to get past now (SP/agoraphobia). I relate my illness not to drugs, but to some traumatic events that have occurred in the past few years like verbal, physical abuse from another one of my brothers and the time a group of guys tried mugging me in college (luckily it happened right outside my apartment and I slipped away).

Wow, its time to get baked.

I smoke marijuana, although i've only smoked it once since i've been living in Sydney (1 and a half years), although i must admit, its more due to not being able to get it than anything else

I dont find that smoking weed relieves stress though, i find it makes my SA worse 8O
