I think the things I hate most about Kaiser Permanente are 1] The way you can walk in as a new patient and walk back out in less than an hour with a prescription for a mind altering drug, and 2] The way they toss you in a group of totally different people in totally different levels of their conditions and treat the entire thing with a "cookie cutter approach".
That is to say, they use the exact same kind of treament for every single person in the room no matter what they're there for and with no regard for their level of crisis.
I had an appointment today, and while the therapist was very friendly and easy to talk to, she made it perfectly clear that Kaiser doesn't offer individual therapy. She was glad to refer me to someone who could prescribe drugs, but if I wanted to speak with someone on a regular basis, I was going to have to do so in a room with fifty other people.
Anyway, enough of my rant. Has anyone used Kaiser and found them helpfull in any way?
I'm using them for drugs, but I'm going with a private therapist for the actual "help".
I'd imagine HMO's suck the world over.
