Has anyone been to an anxiety support meeting before?

I saw an ad for a panic attack and anxiety support group in my local paper. They meet up every few weeks at a Borders to chat with each and discuss ways to help overcome their problems. I was thinking of going, but I'm worried if I will be the only young person. Has anyone gone to a support group before? Was it mostly 50 year old married women there? lol What was your experience?

yes

Yes i have. I actualy run the group in my city. Its fun because the members usualy endup talking up a storm. Shy people together are not shy at all. Its the collest thing cause its like we all know whats each other is going to say befor they say it.

The only problem is atandence. Most members never show up. They alwayse have an excuse but i understand why. SocialAnxiety Groups are the most dificult groups to have but we can understand the catch 22.

There's a fantastic support group for adolescents at Macquarie University in Sydney, NSW. I agree, though, that attendance is a major problem. But once you summon the courage to actually go, it's a great experience.
