Hallways

Am I the only person who feels uncomfortable walking in hallways and other places where you can be "scrutinized" walking? I've noticed I can't stand it and I feel awkward and generally uncomfortable while I'm in such situations.

I feel very uncomfortable when I can't put my hands in my pockets when I'm walking. I feel as if I can't walk 'naturally' if I have to have my hands out of pockets.

When i know iam going in too somewhere where i know i will feel uncomfortable walking i normaly carry something like a rolled up magazine or newspaper just so it gives me some thing to do with my hands rather than them just hanging there.

I feel very uncomfortable when I can't put my hands in my pockets when I'm walking. I feel as if I can't walk 'naturally' if I have to have my hands out of pockets.

I feel the same way. I used to just not move my hands but then somebody mocked me because of that. Now I am always self conscious of my hands. I always try to move them a little but I don't know how much movement is considered normal. The worst part of hallways is there is always a group of idiots standing around blocking the way. I don't have the courage to speak up so I just quietly try to sneak around them. I also hate walking by opens doors. I'm afraid everybody in the room will be watching me.

I know the feeling.Normal when I walk alone I have no problem but if i'm in front of lot other people I feel awkward.Like i'm walking funny and I don't know what do with my hand.If I can't put them in a my pockets or hold something I get really uncomfortable. I know it's all in my head but when I have a lot of people looking at me I start thinking there scrutinize me.

hiya SongOfSongs........yeah, for as long as i can remember I've hated walking in the mall close to where i live...the long hallway.....something about the tiled floor.......all the commotion around me.......makes me feel like i'm in a trance or something :x
