A comedian once picked on me when I was in the front row of a live tv show taping. He asked me a question and put the microphone in front of my face. I really didn't want to talk to him, but the pressure was on and I answered him in a nervous, high pitched voice. It got a big laugh from the audience, which instantly humiliated me. The comedian tried to milk it for every penny he could by making fun of my voice and trying to get me to speak again, but I just shut down on him and refused to answer any more of his questions.
There really is a difference between people laughing at you, which is painful, and people laughing with you, which is fun.
