For kids of abuse

If you are a kid that is being abused, whether it's emotionally, physically or sexually, you definitely need to tell a trusted adult now. I know it's easier said than done, but you did nothing to deserve what is happening to you, and you deserve alot better. If you do not feel comfortable going to an adult, there is a number that you can call, anonymously, to talk about anything you need to, not just abuse. The number to the Boys and Girls Town Nat'l hotline is 1-800-448-3000. They are there to help you, and you can trust them.

Keeping Secrets

I would like to support the view of "lonely-world".

If you have been sexually abused there is a valuable web site to go to:

www.isurvive.org

....I came across it when trying to understand what it was like for some men I have met in the last four years.

both men/boys and women/girls use that site to open up and reveal to others what happened to them. and learn to deal with their secrets....and ultimately strive to live free of this harm....that was done to them through no fault of their own.

a couple of years ago i was discussing this with my youngest brother, who is gay. he revealed to me that when he was 13 he was sexually molested by an adult man in a gym here in Australia. and a week later by another man at the same gym.

i was the first family member he ever told - a secret he has kept for almost 40 years !

how sad.
