Five Fear Truths

Whenever I get scared, I like to read over these "Fear Truths" (from Susan Jeffers' "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway") to reassure myself. Sometimes I read over them several times a day! Thought I would share in case anyone else might find them useful.

* The fear will never go away as long as I continue to grow
* The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out and do it
* The only way to feel better about myself is to go out and do it
* Not only am I going to experience fear whenever I’m on unfamiliar territory, but so is everyone else
* Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from the feeling of helplessness

My favourite one I use was stolen from "Adam and the Ants" chessey eighties hit song "Prince charming".

"Ridicule is nothing to be scared of".

It was also used in the Jennifer Saunders sit com "Absolutely Fabulous", by Edina.

I find it very helpful to say that to myself if I feel I am looking or feeling like a mental person.

Peacexxx
