If you can't tell by my forum name, I like metal, heh. My current favorite bands are Crowbar and Funeral. I like my songs to be dark/depressing and heavy.

Re: What are your favorite bands?!?!

New Order - a friend and I in high school borrowed a tape from this punk girl who wore yellow lipstick and used an ammo box for a purse. It was the album Lowlife, and it blew my mind. It was weird - you couldn't tell what was bass and what was guitar (at least I couldn't, initially). But it had melodies all over the place. And suitably depressing lyrics.

Tom Verlaine - because The Wonder is such a romantic album. "Five hours from Calais, another holiday, I'm glad I took this chance with you. For in the course of things, I find the hidden springs, time and time again with you." Also great production and guitar riffs, and lots of good melodies. Unfortunately it's out of print though. That's craaazy!

Soundgarden - because Superunknown is really good for when you're really depressed. "Down in a hole, Jesus tries to crack a smile, beneath another shovel-load". It's really dark, lyrically. And the next album, Down on the Upside also has some great songs in the same vein. Especially Pretty Noose. Holy crap. That song is like the epitome of grunge.

Interpol - because their first album is so good. Especially the bass and drums.

um, that's enough for now...
