I was wondering, is anyone else here dyspraxic? I've never been officially diagnosed but reading up on it I think I might be mildly dyspraxic. I've always had difficulty with practical stuff (hated handicrafts and needlework at school) and I'm pretty poor at maths too (apparently people with dyspraxia are often not good at figurework) plus I was a fairly clumsy child. Another thing is, I've always been mainly right-handed but I'm left-handed a lot of the time too and dyspraxic people are often ambidexterous.
It doesn't impact on my life a great deal but it does impact enough in many small ways eg when they're decorating the office at Xmas or birthdays I always have to back out because I can't make things or tie balloons etc - have enough trouble trying to tie shoelaces when I wear trainers! And don't even mention ironing...
The condition is becoming more widely known in schools (they used to call it "clumsy child syndrome") but there's not much help around for adults and when I mention I might be dyspraxic people have either never heard of it or don't believe I am because, like I said, in my case it's not severe so I more or less cope and I'm not noticeably clumsy. I often feel if I didn't have this problem tho I'd be much more confident and far less socially anxious.
By the way, the most famous person who suffers from it is Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter).
