Does music really effects ones mood like me?

One thing i have noticed about myself is music. I absolutely love it! Without music i would not be me at all. I play guitar and love it! I have over 15,000 songs on my PC :D .. So you can see how much i love it.

I've noticed, music effects my moods alot. For some reason i am drawn to more minor (sad) sounding music. Thats not really such a blessing considering what ive been through, and have a depressive disorder already. But i cant just stop listening to it. They are such good songs. I really feel connected to my music, and when its a sad song it really gets my heading down the depressive hole again. Does anyone else have this same connection to music that i do? Or maybe im so deep into my music because i cant have that connection with the people around me?

Yes! I also listen to certain types of music depending on what type of mood I'm in at that moment. Maybe you can relate best to sad music. I feel drawn to sad, sickly beautiful songs as well, and I'm not sure why, because it doesn't exactly lift my mood in any way! Music is just amazing and powerful all around, and I even believe it can heal people in some ways (not as in terminal illness or anything, but rather helping to heal loss, sadness, emptiness, etc.).

Oh yes, definitely. I go through phases of listening to different genres of music sometimes depending on my mood. When I'm feeling down, I listen to slower songs. When things are alright and I'm happier, I go for more upbeat stuff like Trance. Music is therapeutic, and always there when you need it... :)
