Do you think confidence is related to how seriously people take you

This is a very interesting topic! :) I haven't been in a working environment yet, since I am still studying. I know, even though I doubt it so much every once in a while, that I am smart and have a way of perceiving and connecting things very quickly. However, because I honestly and DELIBERATELY show myself as silly and unknowledgeable, people perceive me this way. I know you guys will judge, but I think it's because my self-confidence is so low. If I am not the funny, careless one, what will people like me for?

When we were asked who our class would like to be THE LEAST represented with, guess who won? Even though I know I have the best average amongst them and the widest general knowledge. It hurts so much, but every time I'm in a new society, I act the same. People don't take me seriously.

Anyway, my point being (sorry for the off-topic) confidence and that "presence" doesn't come from anyone else BUT you, even though it can be influenced by others. However, you decide what you want to be in a society. There is no way to be respected and taken seriously if you don't respect and believe in what you stand for.

And it has nothing to do with the way you look, trust me.
