attractive/beauty to me is looking healthy in what my opinion of healthy is. I don't look healthy which is why right now I am disgusted with myself. I also have high 'healthy standards' which does not help. Physically we're talkin, right?
Great question! I'm not the model type Im no Adriana Lima who in my eyes is one of the most beautiful women in the world lol..I think I'm average, however I have my days when I feel unpretty.
Well most people visibly recoil away from me and want nothing to do with me, even when I haven't even said a word so I guess I am ugly. This fact depresses me and makes me feel worthless.
About half the women on the street look me in the eyes, many smile or do some sort of positive body language thing. Some guys, too. For many years I half-thought it was because I had messed hair or an ink-smudge on my face or something similar, yet checking a mirror later I found nothing odd, just what I considered a goofy face looking back.
I've recently come to terms with being alright/sorta kinda good looking (to some, I guess... those with bad taste!🙂), and now my main problem is learning how to react to the attention.
Unfortunately, by now I'm at that age where wrinkles are starting to show. My advise is, work as hard as you can on your getting better, 'cos age happens to everyone and every smile in passing is a lost chance. Don't obsess on your exterior: I've seen plenty of aesthetically challenging people bursting with self-confidence and in very happy relationships (usually with quite attractive partners).
Well I cant say for sure since I would be biased, sometimes for the worse,I can say that I did have some girls liking me,others didnt respond to me very well,I guess it would depend on who you ask.
Social monstrosity, I always see you posting about how hideous you are. (Your avatar does not imply other wise, either) I bet you look fine. I dare you to post a pic! We have such flawed perception of ourselves... (This is hard to say because I too firmly believe I am hideous, don't get me wrong. -cough-imsuchahypocrite)
I wonder the same thing all the time... some days I can look in the mirror and be somewhat satisfied with what I see, though, most of the time I'm repulsed by what I see staring back at me.
I mean, I've been told a fair share of times that I'm either cute or attractive, and I've caught numerous glances from girls, But, nonetheless, I look at myself and shrug... I just don't see anything good. But, they do say that we our the harshest critic of our own person - we don't see what other people see, it's easy for us to see the imperfections and all that jargon.
But truly, I don't even know... I've seen a good amount of odd looking people paired with good looking ones - I mean, come on, Julia Roberts married Lyle Lovett, for example - but, I guess it all comes down to what the other person sees in you? Meh.
If you are a guy it's harder to tell if you are good-looking. I still am not sure of where I am on a scale of 1-10 and I'm 26 years old. It seems like women would have it easier to know what they look like because men seem to be more obvious with their thoughts about a woman's looks, like with staring, even whistling, or yelling sometimes. And then on those date sites the women get more messages than men, so I guess if your mailbox fills up then a woman would have a good idea she's hot.
People tell me I'm cute, but it's mostly my girl friends or family members, which doesn't really help much to boost my self esteem. The only guys who have ever told me I'm "attractive" were guys from the internet who left comments on my pictures and my two ex boyfriends who ended up cheating on me so I'm reluctant to believe people when they say I'm "cute". I certainly don't think I am.

On dating sites, mediocre or even ugly women get plenty of mails. It seems to me that a lot of pretty girls have self-esteem issues (just take a look at this site, for instance)--and it also seems like a lot of ugly girls think they're sh!t hot because desperate guys hit on them (nobody who've posted their picture here are ugly, though).

I think you're cute 🙂 :😮:
Hmm, I'm beginning to believe that I may be attractive... just by recent experiences and by thinking more clearly/calmly lately. Still not sure if I'm good-looking, but I think I may be attractive enough. Guess my confidence is going up 😀
