hey, im kinda new here, my english isn't perfect, so i apologize if i make any mistakes.

i signed up to this forum to check whether what i've had was social phobia or not...
well here's the story of my life:
somewhere around the age of 14, i stopped going to school because i was too afraid. i was afraid to get into an argue or a fight with anyone. actually i was afraid of it even earlier....anyway, i left school, i went to study in some program where you can study with private teachers and get all the education you need.
also, i lost contact with the few friends i had...so basicly i was mostly at home.
i started going to a psychologist, and i was slowly improving...i started going out to the gym, even spoke to some friends sometimes...
then, i really really improved, i started going out, started making contact with people...i wasn't so afraid already.
now i returned to my old school, and i'm pretty much ok.

but i still have some strange things going on...like, im afraid to talk to anyone next to a window because im afraid the neighbors might hear us...

what do you think, is it social phobia or not?

Hi gman, and welcome to SPW. Social phobia, I think, is characterised by extreme shyness. Feel free to correct me if you think diffrently. There are two types of shyness; one that you can get over with familiarity (which apparently is normal), and shyness that comes from being judged by others.

So, do you dislike to talk near windows because you are worried that others you don't know will over-hear your conversation (normal shyness) or because you are worried that they will judge you by what you say (social anxiety)?
