Could this be the end???

So I got some great news from my room mate today! Aparently they've discovered a way to erase bad memories for ever!! And I'm just assuming that bad memories are what creates social anxiety so this may be able to help...fingers crossed!!

hello!

But this is very dangerous, isn´t it? and whay about depression? And how much that is cost?
This I remember me a film, but I can´t remember its name. Kate Witlsley played the main role.

Anyway, experiments never stop.

I doubt this is the way to go, as far as I know there's still no "THIS is what causes SA" facts out there, it's still just theories. And if SA is linked to issues with the way the brain handles fear, then erasing memories won't help. Hell, it's going to do more harm than good.

Besides, removal of memories (and I doubt this is actually possible at this point, if you have a source then please share), can have all sorts of nasty effects.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's a really good movie. I don't think this would get rid of social anxiety though, unless your SA is the result of some life-changing incident.

I saw that article about erasing bad memories. Unfortunately, I think that it's only been tested on lab mice so far!

I can't speak for you, but it has nothing to do with memories for me.

At any rate, erasing one memory from a mouse means it'll be another century before the technology can be applied to arbitrary human memories.
